Hwarangdo Championships 2011
The Australian Hwa Rang Taekwondo Academy hosted another successful tournament on Sunday 11th September, 2011. Over 160 Competitors have once again demonstrated a high level of skill in full contact free sparring, pattern and demonstration events. It was great to see so much support with over 400 people cheering and barracking for the competitors. Grandmaster Kim was very pleased and excited to see such talent, enthusiasm and support for Hwa Rang Taekwondo.
The day started off with the full contact free sparring for the Juniors - yellow to red belt, then followed by the Senior fights from yellow to black belt. Some fights were over with a blink of the eyes and others went down to the wire and even into suddent death.
Grandmaster Myung Man Kim would like to thank the Mt. Pritchard Commmunity Club once again for their support by providing facilities to host the tournament - your support is very much appreciated! Thanks also to St. John's for providing first aid assistance during the day.
A big thank you to members from our Hunter & Queensland HRD clubs who travelled a long way to compete. Finally, thanks to everyone, including club instructors, students, volunteers, referees and judges, competitors, family and friends who helped make this a much anticipated event in the Hwarangdo calendar.
2012 HRD Championships will be bigger and better and look forward to your support.
