Korean Festival – October 2011

The Korean Festival was organised by the Korean Society of Sydney and is the biggest Korean event in Sydney. This year, the Korean Festival was held at Croydon Park on Saturday, 8th of October. The timing of this festival also coincides with Korea's national day of thanksgiving or 'Chuseok'. Chuseok originated from the traditional harvest period in Autumn and is a time of cultural tradition and family celebration. The Festival featured a variety of food stalls, children's rides, traditional & contemporary performances, music and dancing. This was an opportunity for HRD Demonstration members, family and friends to discover the Korean cuisine, culture and tradition in this festivity.

HRD Demonstration team had also been asked to perform at this years Korean Festival. It was wonderful to see the next generation of HRD members taking a step forward and participating. Grandmaster Kim had said that we still need a bit of work and needed to improve. Well done to the team and everyone who particiated.
