NSW Chinese Timorese Association Demonstration - 2011

HRD Demonstration Team had performed at the 19th Annual Inaugural Ceremony for the NSW Chinese Timorese Association on the 12th November 2011.  Here is one of the accounts of one of our Senior Demonstration members.

For many of our Senior Demonstration members, the Demonstration on the 12th November at the 19th Annual Inaugural Ceremony, for the NSW Chinese Timorese Association, was just another demonstration; however, for me and four new members of the demonstration team, it was a little more. This was our first time performing in front of our native community, friends and family and it was their first time debuting in a Hwa Rang Do colours. Although they were only yellow belts, the level of focus, determination and effort put in was particularly admired by one senior member - 'Really impressive for new yellow belts and to hold boards on their first trying; they're going to be good'. For me, I was happy to see their personalities change from, 'No I can't do it' and 'I don't want to do it, what if they laugh at us?' to 'Yeah! That was fun! When's the next one?' - Confidence and positivity are good ingredients for success.

And of course our senior HRD demonstration members never fail to impress, which is what they deserve after so many years of practice and improvement. Women Self Defense and Weapon Self Defense were crowd favourites as usual but so was another one we hadn't done in a long time, blind-folded 360 degrees and 540 degrees cup kicking. I could go through all the funny comments and compliments but we'll save that for our HRD Christmas Party. In short, I'm proud to be training together with you, not because we work well in Demonstrations, but because we train hard to keep improving and we have fun while doing it.

So now our Demonstration track record includes: schools, festivals, Easter Show, Club Tournaments, Remembrance Day ceremonies and now Inaugural Ceremonies. What's next...Weddings or Opera House? ;)
HWA RANG DO, HWA RANG DO, HWA RANG DO YAYA!
